Parkland Geese

These are some of the Hybrid geese that live in the local parkland
They are an assortment of colours and cross breeds that have evolved over time. They make a nice image to look at with their varied plumage

They also mix with the flocks of purebred Greylag and Canada geese that also reside in the parkland

Very handsome, I like the plumage variations and, as always, love the way geese walk, putting one foot heel down, so purposefully in front of the other! Smashing photos.

Hey Roy ...what wonderful varied plummage...nice photo's. Especially like first one and the third ones colors.
In the fifth photo I couldn't help laughing at how the goose in the background looks like it is standing on the back of the goose in the foreground. ; }

Thanks Sweff, yes they walk very stately like.

Hey GG, I did notice that about the fifth one, I must pay more attention.

Thanks Keith.

Yes Evie, I believe they think so as well.{:)

Great pictures, Roy. To be honest, I have never really paid much attention to geese. I was surprised by the variations of their plumage. I think the snowy background enhances their beauty. I did laugh when I saw the fifth picture with the illusion of one standing on the other.
Thank you for sharing your eye and the beauty of your landscape. I enjoy all your posts.

Hi Kathlyn, thanks.
Yes those geese are a bit of a mixture, but have a good life in the parkland and always appear to be well fed by visitors.

Interesting hybrids! The third looks a lot like your White-fronted geese. That first one looks like it has snow on it :-)

They are certainly a bit of a mixture Mary.
